Job Overview

The Eye Surgery Center of Middle Tennessee is a premier single-specialty ophthalmology ambulatory surgery center dedicated to providing exceptional surgical care and an outstanding patient experience.

We are seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse who enjoys working in a fast-paced outpatient setting while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Schedule

Full-time position
Monday - Thursday with occasional Fridays
No call
No night
No weekends
No holidays

Responsibilities

Assess and prepare patients for surgery
Monitor and care for patients during post-anesthesia recovery
Administer medications and manage IV therapy as ordered
Accurately document patient care and maintain electronic medical records
collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care
Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition

Qualifications

Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
One year of nursing experience; ambulatory surgery center experience preferred
BLS certification required upon hire
ACLS certification required within 60 days of hire
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Knowledge of surgical patient care and aseptic technique
Willingness to cross-train in multiple areas of the surgery center, including OR circulating and instrument processing
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
