Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Board of Directors to craft and implement a forward-thinking vision aligned with our mission of empowering survivors.
Team Development: Mentor and inspire a diverse senior management team, cultivating a supportive culture that prioritizes collaboration, professional growth, and work-life balance.
Community Engagement: Build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders across our seven-county service area—focusing on Warren, Franklin, and St. Charles counties—as well as government agencies, coalitions, and partners to expand advocacy and service reach.
Fundraising & Resource Development: Lead grant writing, donor cultivation, and fundraising strategies to ensure long-term financial stability and program innovation.
Program Oversight: Maintain excellence in core services, including 24/7 hotline and shelter operations, crisis intervention, therapeutic support, and community-based programs. Participate in on-call rotations and shelter duties as needed to support round-the-clock coverage.
Public Advocacy: Act as our chief spokesperson, elevating survivor voices through media, public speaking, and awareness campaigns.
Financial Management: Oversee budgets, resources, and operations to promote fiscal responsibility and organizational sustainability.
Qualifications
We’re seeking a proven leader with:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in nonprofit management, social work, public administration, or related field preferred (relevant experience may substitute).
Experience: At least 3 years in nonprofit leadership, with a track record of team building, fundraising success, and strategic planning. Experience in domestic/sexual violence advocacy or trauma-informed services is highly valued.
Skills: Outstanding communication, including public speaking and writing
Expertise in relationship-building and partnership development
Proficiency in grant management, fundraising, and budget oversight
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Knowledge & Commitment: Familiarity with domestic and sexual violence issues; a deep passion for our mission and dedication to survivor empowerment. Proven ability to work collaboratively with boards and diverse teams.
