2. Position Summary
As the Overnight Auditor at The Hermitage Hotel, you serve as the steward of the hotel’s overnight operations, ensuring seamless continuity of service, operational accuracy, and financial integrity. Through precision, composure, and intuitive guest care, you uphold the hotel’s standards of excellence while safeguarding both the guest experience and the transition into a new business day.
3. Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience Excellence
- Ensure a refined, composed, and anticipatory guest experience throughout overnight hours
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all guest needs, requests, and service recovery with professionalism and discretion
- Manage arrivals, departures, and in house guest interactions with warmth, efficiency, and attention to detail
- Maintain a secure, welcoming, and well maintained environment across all guest facing areas
Night Audit Operations & Financial Accuracy
- Execute the nightly audit process with precision, including reconciliation of all hotel revenues, outlets, and financial reporting
- Complete credit card settlements, income audit processes, and verification of all financial transactions
- Review, balance, and report on all house statistics, adjustments, and comp or house charges
- Run end of day procedures and accurately transition the hotel to the next business date
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures, documentation, and audit compliance
Operational Oversight & Accountability
- Maintain full operational awareness of the property during overnight hours, ensuring readiness across departments
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, risks, or service gaps with sound judgment and urgency
- Support front office operations including guest check in, check out, and reservation assistance as needed
- Ensure adherence to all service standards, safety protocols, and operational procedures
Collaboration & Communication
- Provide clear and detailed shift reports to leadership and incoming teams to ensure seamless transition into the day
- Communicate effectively with all departments to relay guest needs, operational updates, and priority actions
- Maintain professional, clear, and consistent communication with guests and internal teams
Technical & Administrative Excellence
- Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of all financial records, guest accounts, and audit documentation
- Ensure all systems are updated correctly, including PMS entries and reporting tools
- Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance audit accuracy and operational efficiency
4. Qualifications & Requirements
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of Night Audit, Front Office, or Rooms Division experience within a hotel environment
- Strong understanding of hotel financial processes, reporting, and audit procedures
- Proficiency in property management systems with Opera experience preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with polished professional presence
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain composed in a fast paced environment
- Flexible availability including overnight hours, weekends, and holidays
