Full Job Description

Position Overview

Reports To: Foundation Executive Director

Department: PHCC—National Association Educational Foundation

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Arrangement: Remote or Hybrid if candidate is located in the DMV area

Travel: Up to 10% of the time annually

Summary

Working with the Executive Director, the Senior Manager, Foundation & Grants leads the Foundation's fundraising, sponsorship, grant-seeking and grant-making programs, and cultivates relationships with donors, sponsors, funders and industry partners. Provides administrative support and assists with governance activities related to the Foundation Board of Directors, Board of Governors, and committees, and supervises Foundation operations in the Executive Director's absence.

Essential Responsibilities

Fundraising & Development

Leads a comprehensive and effective fundraising program that includes sponsorships, annual giving, endowment gifts, planned giving and donor stewardship.
Manages the organization's Annual Giving Campaign, including development of contribution collection strategies, fundraising communications, fundraising committee management, contribution acknowledgements, financial recordkeeping, donor stewardship and sponsor relations.
Works with the PHCC Business Development team to grow existing sponsorships and secure new sponsorships to offset program costs. Monitors sponsor payment status and manages delivery of sponsorship requirements.
Develops and grows relationships with industry partners; collaborates with PHCC to secure corporate sponsorships and provide sponsorship fulfillment reports as needed.
Builds, cultivates and maintains relationships with donors, sponsors, and industry partners to grow long-term Foundation support.

Grants Management

Manages the full grant lifecycle for Foundation programs, including researching funding opportunities, preparing and submitting applications, and ensuring timely, compliant reporting to funders.
Creates the supporting program framework and launches the Foundation's grant-making program, then manages the award process and data collection required from grantees.
Maintains relationships with grant-making organizations and tracks compliance requirements across all active grants.

Foundation Communications, Leadership & Governance Support

Creates written, visual and video marketing and communications content on Foundation programs for the organization's press releases, electronic newsletters, printed newsletter, annual report, social media, Foundation YouTube Channel, and the Foundation web site.
Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Foundation in the absence of the Foundation Executive Director.
Assists in preparation of the Foundation budget for submission to the Board of Directors and monitors revenue and expenditures.
Assists in preparation of Foundation program reports to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders; supports governance activities related to the Foundation Board of Directors, Board of Governors, and committees.
Responds to inquiries from members and others regarding Foundation programs; collaborates with other Foundation and Association staff to plan and execute shared PHCC events and programs, and represents the Foundation at industry events as needed.
Oversees project responsibilities assigned to administrative staff and vendors/consultants related to fundraising and grants to ensure expected product and level of service is delivered.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree, preferred in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

8 years of relevant experience with a not-for-profit trade association or foundation with an emphasis on fundraising, grant writing and management, donor and sponsor relations, and the ability to handle multiple assignments. Construction industry experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of non-profit governance, financial requirements & regulations, and annual budget development.
Knowledge of grant research, writing, submission and compliance reporting requirements.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including scope, timelines, budgets and stakeholder coordination.
Ability to build, cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, funders and industry partners, including major-gift and planned-giving relationships.
Experience managing the full donor lifecycle, including annual giving campaigns, donor management platforms and records, solicitation communications, and cultivation through long-term retention.
Experience working with a committee of volunteer fundraisers to generate ideas, reach new audiences and meet fundraising goals.
Experience with grant and corporate sponsorship proposal writing, and meeting funder and sponsor reporting requirements.
Experience tracking data and creating sponsor fulfillment reports to sustain long-term program support.
Strong interpersonal, relationship-management and presentation skills, including reports at Board meetings and industry events.
Ability to write clear and effective letters, reports and articles.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; comfortable using AI tools for idea generation and content creation, with awareness of security concerns around sharing donor data with AI platforms.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
