Journeyman Electrician
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and safety-conscious Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial and residential electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs. This position requires the ability to interpret blueprints, troubleshoot electrical systems, and perform work in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
· Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and technical specifications to determine project requirements.
· Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems in compliance with NEC standards and local codes.
· Perform electrical installations using a variety of hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and measuring instruments.
· Diagnose electrical issues using voltmeters, meters, and other diagnostic equipment.
· Install and service electrical panels, conduit, wiring, lighting, switches, receptacles, and related electrical components.
· Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
· Collaborate effectively with project managers, supervisors, and fellow team members to complete projects on schedule.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
· Accurately document completed work and communicate project progress or potential issues to management.
· Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company safety procedures at all times.
Qualifications
· Valid Journeyman Electrician license (where required).
· Proven experience as a Journeyperson Electrician in commercial and/or residential construction.
· Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
· Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
· Experience working with both low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems.
· Proficiency with electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces when necessary.
· Capable of standing, kneeling, bending, and performing physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
· Ability to work in various weather conditions and construction environments.
