Vida Hotel & Residences is seeking an accomplished Finance Director to join our Executive Leadership Team. As Finance Director, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and Corporate Leadership while ensuring the financial integrity and long-term success of one of South Florida's premier luxury hospitality destinations.
Position Summary
At Vida Hotel & Residences, the Finance Director is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and ensuring the financial integrity of both the hotel operations and the condominium-hotel ownership program. This executive leadership role oversees all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, internal controls, owner distributions, payroll, purchasing oversight, tax compliance, and financial planning.
The Finance Director serves as a trusted business partner to the General Manager and Corporate Leadership, providing financial analysis that drives profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term asset value. Given the unique nature of a condo-hotel operation, this role requires extensive experience managing owner revenue distributions, rental pool accounting, reserve funds, unit-level financial reporting, and owner relations.
The Finance Director also serves as the primary financial liaison for condominium owners, delivering exceptional customer service by responding promptly to owner inquiries, requests, and concerns; providing clear, accurate financial information; and fostering strong, professional relationships through proactive communication and responsive service. This role works collaboratively with hotel operations, corporate leadership, and ownership to ensure an exceptional owner experience that reflects the luxury standards of Vida Hotel &Residences.
The ideal candidate is an analytical, ethical, detail-oriented executive with extensive hospitality financial expertise, exceptional business acumen, and proven experience in luxury hotels and condominium-hotel environments. Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is required to effectively communicate with owners, guests, vendors, and business partners in a diverse international setting.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership
- Lead all accounting and financial operations of Vida Hotel & Residences.
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with Urbana Hospitality's objectives.
- Provide financial guidance and strategic recommendations to the General Manager and Corporate Leadership.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company financial policies.
- Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company and owner assets.
- Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Condo-Hotel Financial Management
- Oversee all financial operations related to the hotel rental program.
- Manage owner revenue distributions accurately and on schedule.
- Prepare detailed monthly owner statements reflecting rental income, management fees, operational expenses, reserve fund contributions, and net owner distributions.
- Ensure accurate accounting for individually owned units participating in the rental program.
- Manage reserve fund accounting and reconciliation.
- Review owner contracts to ensure financial compliance with management agreements.
- Work closely with Revenue Management and Operations to maximize owner and hotel profitability.
Owner Relations & Liaison
- Serve as the primary financial liaison between hotel management and condominium owners.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly, professionally, and courteously to owner questions, requests, and concerns.
- Build and maintain positive, long-term relationships with condominium owners through transparent, accurate, and proactive communication.
- Assist owners in understanding monthly owner statements, revenue distributions, management fees, reserve fund activity, rental program performance, and other financial matters.
- Coordinate with hotel operations, Revenue Management, Property Management, and Corporate Leadership to resolve owner concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify opportunities to improve owner satisfaction through enhanced communication, financial reporting, and personalized service.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding owner financial information and business matters.
- Deliver every owner interaction in a manner consistent with the luxury service standards of Vida Hotel & Residences.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, General Ledger, Payroll Oversight, Fixed Assets, and Bank Reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and executive reporting packages.
- Produce forecasts, variance analyses, operational dashboards, and year-end financial statements.
- Coordinate annual audits and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Lead annual operating and capital budgeting.
- Prepare rolling forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Analyze labor costs, departmental expenses, and operational performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators including ADR, Occupancy, RevPAR, GOP, Flow Through, labor costs, and departmental profitability.
- Recommend strategies that improve profitability while maintaining luxury service standards.
Revenue & Business Analysis
- Partner with Revenue Management to optimize pricing and revenue strategies.
- Analyze market trends and operational performance.
- Prepare financial models, investment analyses, and feasibility studies.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Coordinate tax reporting and external audits.
- Maintain purchasing controls and internal financial safeguards.
- Protect confidential company, employee, and owner information.
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead the department clerk.
- Establish performance goals and conduct evaluations.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide financial education and support to operational leaders.

QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal) required.
- Minimum 5–8 years of progressive hospitality finance experience.
- Minimum 2–5 years as a Finance Director, Controller, or Assistant Director of Finance.
- Previous experience with condo-hotels, branded residences, mixed-use developments, or rental program accounting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, hotel accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Experience managing owner distributions, reserve funds, rental pool accounting, and unit-level financial reporting.
- Exceptional analytical, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred
- Experience with M3, BirchStreet, Sage Intacct, Oracle, or similar accounting platforms.
- Experience with hospitality PMS systems.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Luxury hotel or branded residential hospitality experience.
