Job Summary:
The Human Resources & Communications Generalist provides administrative and operational support across a variety of HR functions, including employee relations, leave administration, compliance, contractor coordination, new-hire orientation, and HRIS recordkeeping. The position also supports company communications and employee engagement by creating flyers, graphics, announcements, and presentations and assisting with company events and recognition programs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Human Resources, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to balance computer-based administrative responsibilities with regular communication among employees, hiring managers, and contractor companies. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What you’ll do:
- Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department, including preparing correspondence, employment verifications, reports, and other HR documentation.
- Assists with administering company policies and employment requirements, including ADA, FMLA, GINA, EEO, and anti-harassment policies, as well as determining, implementing, and tracking employee leaves.
- Serves as the primary liaison between hiring managers and contractor companies by coordinating communication, scheduling job-classification testing, maintaining documentation, and updating contractor information in the HRIS.
- Supports the HR Manager with employee investigations and documents discussions involving leaves, complaints, investigations, terminations, and other employee matters.
- Conducts new-hire orientations, communicates company policies, procedures, and benefits, processes I-9 forms and E-Verify requirements, and prepares and distributes new-hire reports.
- Creates internal communications, including flyers, graphics, announcements, and presentations.
- Assists with company events, employee recognition programs, and engagement initiatives.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of Human Resources experience.
- Knowledge of core HR functions, employment requirements, and administrative procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS platforms, and other computer-based systems.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including professional email communication.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure and with frequent interruptions.
- Sound judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
- Ability to communicate professionally and tactfully with employees, management, and external partners.
- Experience with Canva or similar design software is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is helpful but not required.
