Provide technical instruction in electrical subjects including print reading, wiring (residential, commercial, and industrial), the National Electrical Code, transformers, motors, motor controls, electronics, and PLCs. Develop course materials and hands-on training exercises.
Evaluate, specify, install, and maintain training equipment.
Coordinate with other electrical instructors to insure program consistency.
Attend college training in Portal, Blackboard, Web Attendance, and other trainings required for job performance.
Provide effective instruction to students online and/or in the classroom by preparing for each learning experience, providing supplemental materials to enhance textbooks and lessons, and using effective evaluation methods to measure student performance.
Ensure teaching and working environment (classroom, lab, shop) by maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring overall cleanliness, functionality, and conformance to OSHA standards.
Maintain accurate records (such as attendance, grades, documentation for accreditation, etc.) and submit any corresponding reports according to departmental or college guidelines.
Utilize course materials and hands-on training exercises.
Education requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Systems related program preferred. With a minimum one-year Electrical vocational diploma level.
Experience requirements:
Minimum of five years of residential, commercial, and/or industrial electrical experience. Experience should include a variety of industrial electrical projects as well as routine troubleshooting and repair work. Candidate should have a current Limited, Intermediate, or Unlimited electrical contracting license.
