Warehouse & Logistics Manager Job Description

Job Overview:

The Warehouse & Logistics Manager has the primary responsibility for transactions into and out of the Inventory in SAP. The Warehouse & Logistics Manager is also responsible for the domestic and international movements of goods from vendors and to customers.

Essential Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in transportation management, warehouse operations, inventory control, and fulfillment including import and export terms as well as freight forwarding procedures.

· Leadership, decision making, and problem-solving skills

Ability to streamline workflows and reduce operational bottlenecks
Experience with carrier negotiations, routing, and logistics forecasting
Strong ability to manage budgets, transportation costs, and vendor contracts
Proficiency in performance metrics, dashboards, and cost-saving analysis
Managing warehouse teams, drivers, supervisors, order management and third-party logistics partners
Ability to lead through change in a fast-moving operational environment

Roles & Responsibilities

Develop and manage logistics strategies for inbound and outbound operations
Oversee warehousing (including repacking process), order management, transportation, distribution, and delivery operations
Optimize routes, reduce freight costs, and ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) are met
Maintain inventory accuracy as well as proper inventory levels and coordinate with sales and supply planning teams
Assures that goods are placed in the warehouse in an organized way for retrieval using the FIFO method
Assess and select carriers, logistics vendors, and distribution partners
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, customs rules, and quality standards implementing procedures and policies as necessary
Implement logistics technology and process improvements
Develop and monitor KPIs related to shipping accuracy, lead times, warehouse efficiency to increase productivity and aid in loss prevention
Manage Chargeback analysis and corrective actions
Prepare operational budgets and forecasts
Oversee staffing, training, and development of warehouse/logistics team members
Responsible for coordination of facility and equipment maintenance including HVAC, Dock Doors, and Forklifts, including preventive maintenance programs

Education Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Operations, or a related field

· Five to ten years of experience in logistics, transportation, distribution, and warehouse operations

· OSHA forklift certification

· Familiarity with compliance and safety requirements (DOT, OSHA, international shipping standards)

· Experience in SAP

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
