Builds and delivers food trays to patients, processes meal requests and diet orders through computer system, provides prompt and accurate service to customers using point of service operations. Interacts with patients, employees, medical staff and customers over the phone and in person. Builds nourishment orders and delivers to floor using hospital computer ordering system. Job Specific Duties Food Preparation Assists with food preparation including: cold food production, baking and grill relief Transportation of Goods Transports items from storeroom to kitchen, from kitchen to retail and from cooking equipment to service equipment Tray Preparation Prepares trays for patients based on meal tickets and for retail customers as requested. Sanitation & Cleaning Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas, including dish room. Washes dishes by hand or by machine. Delivers/Returns Trays Delivers trays to patient?s room or nursing unit. Returns dirty trays from unit to dish room, maintaining separation of clean and dirty. Order Entry Enters patient diet orders and meal/snack orders into computer system. Assists patient with menu choices to meet diet restrictions Nourishment Delivery Organizes and delivers nourishment supplies to units as ordered. Cash Register Operation Accepts customer payments maintaining a balanced cash drawer. Balances receipts daily. Conflict Resolution Resolves concerns and complaints from customers or refers to supervisor as appropriate. Professionalism Upholds a professional working relationship at all times and adheres to department rules. Practices teamwork and adheres to Standards of Behavior.
