Job Summary

Join our family oriented veterinary team as a Veterinary Receptionist / Assistant, where your enthusiasm and compassion will make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their owners. This role combines front desk responsibilities with hands-on animal care, providing a rewarding opportunity to work in a fast-paced, pet-centered environment. You will be the friendly face welcoming clients, managing appointments, and supporting veterinary procedures to ensure smooth clinic operations. Your dedication to animal welfare and excellent communication skills will help create a positive experience for every pet and owner who walks through our doors.

Responsibilities

Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently
Handle client communication with professionalism, providing clear information about pet care and clinic services
Assist veterinary staff with animal handling, restraint, and basic husbandry tasks to ensure safe and stress-free examinations
Support veterinary procedures such as IV insertion, medication administration, and animal catheterization under supervision
Maintain accurate record keeping of patient histories, treatment plans, medication logs, and procedural documentation
Ensure cleanliness of the clinic by performing routine cleaning duties including sanitation of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment
Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, and monitoring animal behavior to promote comfort and welfare

Skills

Previous kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience demonstrating familiarity with animal handling and care protocols
Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and animal behavior to support clinical activities
Experience with front desk operations including client communication, appointment scheduling, and record management
Ability to handle dogs and other animals confidently using proper restraint techniques; experience with equine handling is a plus
Proficiency in cleaning procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe environment for staff and animals
Skilled in assisting with surgery preparation and post-operative care under veterinary supervision
Knowledge of medication administration techniques and basic veterinary procedures such as IV insertion and catheterization
