Overview

We are a small, established litigation law firm with two attorneys dedicated to providing high-quality legal representation and exceptional client service. Our team values professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative work environment where every member plays an important role. Because we are a small office, this position offers the opportunity to gain experience in many aspects of a litigation practice while working closely with attorneys and support staff.

We are seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join our team. This position combines front office responsibilities with legal support and administrative duties. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, professional, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior legal office experience who enjoys interacting with clients while also assisting with the day-to-day management of litigation matters. As you become familiar with our practice, your responsibilities will expand to include additional legal assistant and paralegal support.

Responsibilities

Assist with front desk responsibilities as needed such as answering phones and greeting visitors.
Provide administrative and substantive support across various legal practice areas.
Assist attorneys with client communication by scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars.
Process incoming and outgoing mail as needed.
Receive training to assist with litigation matters and expand legal knowledge over time.
Learn to prepare court filings and become proficient with electronic filing systems.
Support case management, including organizing discovery, exhibits, and trial materials.
Take on increasing legal assistant and paralegal responsibilities as experience and proficiency develop.

Qualifications

Prior experience working in a law office preferred but not required.
Experience as a legal assistant, receptionist, or paralegal is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
Professional, courteous, and dependable.
Comfortable learning new software and office procedures.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
Experience with electronic court filing is a plus.
Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a small team.
