Tax Manager | Partner Track Opportunity

Plano, Texas

A real route to equity, backed by succession planning

Plenty of Tax Manager roles mention future Partnership.

Very few are hiring because a current Partner expects to retire within the next three to five years.

That is what makes this opportunity different.

An established independent CPA firm in Plano TX is looking for a Tax Manager who wants more than another portfolio and another vague conversation about progression.

The firm has a genuine leadership need ahead. It wants to hire the right person early enough to build trust, strengthen client relationships, take on wider responsibility, and develop toward future Partnership and equity.

Nothing is automatic. Partnership would need to be earned through performance, leadership, relationships, and mutual fit.

But the reason for the hire is clear, and the opportunity has real substance behind it.

Why this could be a meaningful move

You will work directly with an experienced Partner group and gain visibility into how the practice operates.

You will become closely involved in important client relationships and broader firm decisions.

Your contribution will be visible from the beginning.

You will have the opportunity to strengthen your advisory experience, develop people, and take on greater leadership responsibility as the succession plan progresses.

The firm also offers Fridays off throughout June and July, giving the team a genuine break after the heavier part of the year.

What you will be doing

Lead tax planning and compliance work across individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and small businesses.

Manage long standing client relationships and become a trusted adviser throughout the year.

Review complex work and maintain strong technical and service standards.

Develop staff and seniors through coaching, guidance, and clear feedback.

Work with the Partners on complex tax matters, planning opportunities, client strategy, and wider firm priorities.

Take on increasing responsibility for clients, people, leadership, and firm development as the planned transition moves forward.

Build toward Partnership and future equity over time.

What the firm is looking for

You will need to be an EA or CPA with strong public accounting tax experience at Tax Manager level.

You should be comfortable leading client relationships, reviewing complex work, developing staff, and making sound decisions without constant direction.

The firm is looking for someone steady, credible, and relationship focused.

This role is best suited to someone who wants to earn trust, help shape the practice, and view Partnership as a responsibility as well as a career milestone.

It is unlikely to suit someone looking only for a quick title change or guaranteed promotion.
