Job Overview
Buchheit Construction is seeking an experienced Concrete Laborer / Class A CDL Driver to join our construction team. This position combines hands-on concrete labor, finishing, and carpentry work with material and equipment transport using Class A commercial vehicles.

The majority of time will be spent working with the concrete crew on job sites, with driving responsibilities including transporting materials, equipment, and supplies to and from project locations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both operating trucks and working alongside a construction crew on active job sites.

Responsibilities

Concrete Construction

Assist with concrete flatwork, foundations, and footing installation
Prepare job sites including grading, forming, and site setup
Pour, place, screed, and finish concrete
Ensure finished work meets quality standards and project specifications
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and light construction equipment
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors

Driving & Transportation

Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles
Transport construction materials, tools, and equipment between the yard and job sites
Assist with loading and unloading materials using appropriate equipment
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Secure loads to ensure safe transport
Maintain required DOT driving logs and inspection records
Communicate with supervisors regarding delivery schedules and job site needs

Required Qualifications

At least 5 years of concrete labor, finishing, or carpentry experience
Valid Class A CDL
Clean driving record
Ability to perform physically demanding construction work
Basic understanding of construction job site safety
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Preferred Experience

5+ years of concrete or construction experience
Experience with flatwork, foundation, footings of concrete
OSHA 10 certification

Experience operating equipment such as:

Excavator
Forklift
Skid steer
Track hoe
Tandem dump truck
Tractor trailer

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work on active construction sites and uneven terrain
Ability to climb in and out of trucks and equipment
Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks typical of construction work

Work Environment

Work will take place on active construction sites throughout the Greater St. Louis area
Majority of work is outdoors
Occasional out-of-town projects may occur
