FABRICATION/MACHINE OPERATOR – Press Brake, Whitney, Messer, Saw
Position Summary: This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to fabricate high-quality component parts used in the manufacturing department.
Essential responsibilities:
· Study blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece.
· Select, setup and install proper punch/die combinations (based on tonnage requirements and desired bend results), and materials on machines as necessary to produce parts required.
· Calculate and set controls to regulate machine factors, or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control according to guidelines and procedures.
· Load programs, start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance parts, and adjust machine controls and parameters as required.
· Verify conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
· Store and mark complete parts as required to assist downstream processes.
· Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
· Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization in fabrication area according to maintenance plans and established procedures.
· Ensure safety requirements are followed with utmost importance.
Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
· Previous experience not required, a willingness to learn new skills.
· High level of commitment to accuracy and detail.
· Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment.
· Ability to operate forklift and overhead cranes.
· Read a tape measure, use a square and level to achieve part specs.

· Ability to work in a team environment and take direction with a positive attitude.
· Effective listener, approachable and considerate.
· Punctual with great attendance.
Physical Demands:
· Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
· Employee is required to stand for longer periods of time.
· Visual acuity, close vision is required.
· Ability to use ladders (2ft – 10ft).
