Overview
Milan Rose is a school, sports, and portrait photography company serving Central New Jersey for 25 years. We photograph students, schools, youth sports leagues, seniors, families, and community events throughout the year.
We are hiring Seasonal School Photography Assistants for our fall school portrait season, from late August or early September through approximately early-to-mid November, with the possibility of continued part-time work afterward.
What the role looks like
You are the person who gets each student camera-ready.
Students come to you one at a time. You take their order form or information slip, hand it to the photographer, and then get the student set: straighten a collar, check for hair in the face or food on a shirt, adjust posture and shoulder position, and help them feel comfortable in front of the camera. Then you step aside, the photographer takes the picture, and the next student comes up.
A busy school picture day can involve hundreds of students. The job is fast-paced, repetitive, and highly people-focused. Your work is a major part of keeping the line moving efficiently and making sure each student looks their best.
You will not normally be operating the camera. This is primarily a posing and student-handling position. Photography experience is welcome but not required; strong people skills, reliability, and attention to detail matter more.
You will work alongside a Milan Rose photographer at schools throughout Central New Jersey.
