Full Job Description

Cardinal Cushing Centers is a vibrant and inclusive educational community that provides highly supportive, individualized services to students and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With locations in Hanover and Braintree, we are committed to empowering every individual through customized learning programs, vocational training, and community engagement.

The BCBA works collaboratively within an integrated educational environment to provide behavioral assessment, data analysis, direct classroom support, and social skills instruction. This role creates and manages Behavior Intervention plans and conducts Functional Behavioral Assessments as needed. In addition, this position promotes positive behavioral outcomes, increased independence, social emotional growth, and the development of pro-social behaviors across school settings. The BCBA provides consultation, training and coaching to instructional staff while maintaining flexibility in a dynamic and evolving educational environment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List key areas of responsibility, major job duties and key objectives for this position)

· Conducts Functional Behavioral Assessments and develops, implements, and monitors Behavior Intervention Plans based on assessment findings

· Provides direct behavioral support to students within classrooms and school-based settings

· Delivers and supports social skills instruction for individual students and small groups to enhance communication, self-regulation, peer interactions, and adaptive functioning

· Collaborates with teachers, related service providers, and support staff to develop effective behavioral programming and class-wide interventions

· Observes students across educational settings and activities to assess behavioral needs and evaluate intervention effectiveness

· Provides coaching, training, and ongoing consultation to instructional staff regarding behavior management strategies, implementation fidelity, and data collection procedures

· Assists classroom teams in creating positive, supportive learning environments that encourage student engagement and success

· Analyzes behavioral and educational data to evaluate student progress, identify trends, and make data-drive recommendations

· Develops and implements proactive strategies designed to reduce challenging behaviors and increase functional replacement skills.

· Supports crisis prevention and intervention efforts and assists with implementation of approved safety procedures when necessary.

· Participates in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, Progress Reviews, Collaborative Team Meetings, Case Consultation Meetings, and other interdisciplinary planning meetings as required.

· Collects, summarizes, and presents behavioral data and reports to support educational programming, treatment planning, and medication reviews when applicable.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (Indicate position titles and numbers of staff)

· Provides clinical oversight, training, and mentorship to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and other assigned behavioral support staff.

· Monitors implementation fidelity of behavioral programs and interventions.

· Assists in the professional development of staff through coaching, modeling, and performance feedback.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE (Indicate the minimum requirements for this position) Related Work Experience

· Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), behavioral assessment, and behavior intervention.

· Experience working with children and adolescents with developmental, behavioral, social-emotional, and/or educational needs preferred.

Formal Education

· Master's Degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Special Education, or a related field.

· Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) required in accordance with state regulations.

· BCBA exam-eligible candidates may be considered.

Skills/Abilities/Competencies

· Expertise in data collection, analysis, interpretation, and progress monitoring.

· Ability to provide direct student support and model intervention strategies in classroom settings.

· Knowledge of social skills assessment and instruction methodologies.

· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

· Ability to adapt to changing priorities and function effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic educational environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (List the physical requirements necessary to perform this job)

· May be required to physically intervene with students in accordance with Safety Care procedures and organizational policies.

· Ability to move throughout classrooms, school buildings, and campus environments.

· May assist with lifting, transferring, positioning, or supporting students with physical disabilities.

· Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and respond quickly to student needs throughout the workday.

WORKING CONDITIONS (Describe the conditions in which the work is performed)

· Works primarily in educational and classroom settings serving students with diverse learning, behavioral, developmental, and physical needs.

· Exposure to students exhibiting challenging behaviors, including verbal and physical aggression.

· Assists students with personal care, toileting, feeding, and other self-help skills as required.

· Requires flexibility to work across multiple classrooms, programs, and educational settings

Pay: $85,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
