Job Summary
Surgical Coordinator / Procedure Scheduler

Location: Hinsdale, IL

About Us

Pinnacle Pain Management Specialists is a fast-paced interventional pain management practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Surgical Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate is compassionate, thrives in a busy medical environment, and excels at multitasking while ensuring every patient receives outstanding service.

Position Summary

The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of procedure scheduling and patient communication from the time a procedure is ordered through post-procedure follow-up. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to work closely with physicians, clinical staff, patients, and outside facilities.

Responsibilities

Schedule outpatient procedures and coordinate physician calendars
Obtain any required authorizations prior to scheduling
Contact patients to confirm procedure dates and arrival times
Conduct pre-operative phone calls and review patient instructions
Coordinate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff
Reschedule procedures as needed due to patient or provider availability
Complete post-operative follow-up calls to ensure patient satisfaction and identify concerns
Maintain accurate scheduling documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
Communicate schedule changes promptly to patients and staff
Answer patient questions regarding procedure preparation and recovery
Ensure all required documentation is completed prior to the procedure date
Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of medical scheduling experience required
Surgical scheduling experience preferred
Experience in pain management, orthopedics, surgery, or another specialty practice is highly desirable
Knowledge of medical terminology
Strong computer skills and experience with EMRs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Positive, professional attitude with outstanding customer service skills
