* Must have 2 years of experience in submitting claims for vision insurance (VSP/EYEMED/Spectera/NVA/Davis) For Glasses claims/ Contact lens Claims

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist optometrists in providing high-quality eye care services to patients. You will be responsible for conducting preliminary eye exams, managing medical records, and ensuring a smooth flow of operations within the clinic. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and a solid understanding of both clinical and retail environments.

Responsibilities

Conduct preliminary tests on patients, including visual acuity assessments and tonometry.
Assist in the fitting and dispensing of eyewear, ensuring proper measurements and adjustments.
Maintain accurate medical records and patient information in compliance with privacy regulations.
Utilize retail math skills to assist with inventory management and sales transactions.
Implement aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure patient safety.
Collaborate with the optometrist to provide comprehensive patient care.
***Handle medical billing processes efficiently, ensuring accuracy in insurance claims.
Operate clinic systems effectively, including electronic health records (Epic).
Provide exceptional customer service to enhance patient satisfaction.

Requirements

Previous experience in an ophthalmology or medical office setting is preferred.
Familiarity with retail math concepts is advantageous for managing sales and inventory.
Knowledge of medical billing practices is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate medical records.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
Aseptic technique knowledge is beneficial for assisting during clinical procedures.
A passion for providing quality eye care and improving patient experiences.
