Full Job Description

Overview

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Location: Newark, New Jersey

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our team at a busy dental school in Newark, New Jersey. This position will work directly with patients and staff to assist with non-covered services and support the review of dental billing and charge reports.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills and be comfortable working with patients in a fast-paced clinical environment. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Meet with patients when treatment or services are denied or not covered.
Present and explain Medicaid waiver forms to patients and obtain required signatures prior to treatment, when applicable.
Ensure completed waiver forms are properly documented and maintained.
Run and review reports to identify missing charges.
Run and review reports to identify non-approved charges.
Follow up with the appropriate staff regarding missing or non-approved charges that require correction or review.
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with patients, students, and staff.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

High school diploma required.
Previous dental, medical, insurance, or billing experience is a plus.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Comfortable communicating directly with patients regarding non-covered services and financial responsibility.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems.
Training will be provided to the right candidate.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
