Full Job Description

ARMOR has an opening for a Quality Engineer within our industrial division. In this full-time, salaried position you will support the Chemist and Compliance Manager.

Other responsibilities include performing laboratory testing, QC testing, product development, laboratory maintenance and other duties as assigned. The Quality Engineer position with ARMOR will undoubtedly allow you to grow personally and provide experience for future opportunities.

This position is in Howell, Michigan at our company headquarters. Candidates may select their own start and end times, provided they work a minimum of 8 hours per day, within the window of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time.

Skills / Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience involving quality or laboratory technique required. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel for report generating. Must be a team player, self-motivated, and have good communication skills.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to stand or sit for long periods of time. They must also be able to freely move about the facility, touch and feel, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Reasoning ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Language skills

The candidate will be able to read and comprehend instructions, short memos and correspondence in different forms of medians. They must possess the ability to effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Key Duties

Assist in the implementation of the new ISO 9001:2026
Perform laboratory tests in accordance with established test procedures, accurately record data, analyze results, and generate reports.
Maintain retains program – vendor products are retained per PO and checked against QC standards.
Assist with the development of new test procedures and specifications as needed.
Conduct incoming product quality testing and document results.
Maintain laboratory equipment and supply inventory and ensure proper housekeeping of laboratory and test areas.
Prepare technical documents, such as data sheets and bulletins, for new and existing products.
Support product development and raw material evaluation.
Perform quality maintenance checks and respond to sales requests for current products.
Conduct product approval testing.
Complete Certificates of Conformance (C of C) and Certificates of Analysis (C of A) for orders.
Maintain the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) book company wide.
Keep the certified vendor list updated by product.
Qualify international vendors and their products with maintenance checks.
Assist in QA/QC activities.
Conduct benchmark testing of all major competitors.
