General Manager — Legacy Diner (Since 1962)

Location: Burbank, California

Pay: Salary + performance incentives

We’re hiring a hands-on General Manager to lead a beloved Burbank diner that’s been part of the community since 1962 into its next chapter. This role is for a high-energy operator who thrives in fast-paced environments, is willing to put in the hours, and is excited to improve front of house, back of house, and overall operations — while bringing in new ideas and new clientele.

This is not a desk job. This is a leadership role for someone who shows up, leads from the floor, and treats the business like their own.

About the Role

You’ll oversee daily operations while driving long-term growth. From staffing and service to systems and culture, you’ll be trusted to elevate standards, motivate teams, and help modernize a classic diner — without losing its soul.

Key Responsibilities

Lead FOH & BOH teams with visible, hands-on leadership
Improve daily operations, systems, and service standards
Recruit, train, and retain a strong, accountable team
Elevate guest experience and increase repeat and new business
Bring fresh ideas, promotions, and community-driven initiatives
Manage labor, scheduling, food costs, and expenses
Handle guest concerns with confidence and care
Ensure compliance with food safety, alcohol service, and labor laws
Be present — mornings, nights, weekends — doing what it takes to move the business forward

Who You Are

Comfortable leading both seasoned staff and new hires
Confident, professional, and respected by your team

Qualifications

3–7+ years restaurant leadership experience (GM, AGM, or similar)
Strong FOH & BOH operational knowledge
Experience managing labor and food costs
Valid CA Food Handler & Responsible Beverage Service certifications
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
High-volume, diner, or legacy restaurant experience a plus
