Chewy is seeking a Senior Category Manager, Healthcare to join our growing, fast-paced Healthcare merchandising team. This role may be based in Boston, MA; Plantation, FL; or Bellevue, WA and follows a hybrid work model with 3+ days per week in a Chewy hub.
You will play a key role in shaping and growing Chewy’s Healthcare category while delivering an extraordinary experience for customers and vendor partners. As an individual contributor, you will own the category’s financial performance, develop strategic vendor relationships, and use data and customer insights to identify opportunities for sustainable growth. You will combine deep merchandising and commercial expertise with curiosity, sound business judgment, and a willingness to dig into the details to remove obstacles and move the business forward. Lead the strategy and ongoing development of the Healthcare category, including ownership of financial performance, vendor relationships, assortment, and weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.
Build collaborative relationships with vendor partners across assortment planning, pricing, costs, rebates, terms, and commercial negotiations.
Develop category strategies informed by customer research, financial performance, market trends, and data insights to acquire new customers and deepen relationships with existing customers.
Identify opportunities to improve product and category performance by analyzing sales trends, assortment gaps, customer behavior, competitive dynamics, and market developments.
Translate complex business and analytical findings into clear recommendations and timely decisions that support category growth and customer needs.
Collaborate with Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Pricing, Customer Service, and other cross-functional partners to develop well-rounded plans and bring category priorities to life.
Negotiate effectively with vendor partners to create mutually beneficial outcomes while supporting Chewy’s customer experience and business objectives.
Launch new category initiatives, programs, and customer experiences, bringing together the right partners to move ideas from strategy through implementation.
Monitor category performance and financial metrics, adjusting plans as business conditions, customer needs, and market opportunities evolve.
7+ years of related experience in Category Management, Merchandising, Buying, Product, commercial analytics, or a similar discipline.
A four-year bachelor’s degree.
Demonstrated experience managing a business or category with direct responsibility for financial performance, including revenue, margin, costs, and other key business metrics.
Deep knowledge of category management, merchandising, vendor management, sales, marketing, and general business principles.
Experience developing and maintaining vendor relationships, including commercial negotiations involving assortment, pricing, costs, rebates, or terms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret data, identify meaningful trends, and turn insights into clear business actions.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in writing and conversation and to influence decisions across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with strong knowledge of retail math and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This role requires less than 15% travel based on business needs.
E-commerce or digitally led retail experience.
Experience working with SQL or using SQL-generated data to support business analysis and decision-making.
Additional experience building or growing categories, customer programs, or vendor partnerships within retail or e-commerce environments.

The base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $160,000.00.
The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.

Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
