Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Manager to oversee our dietary services within a healthcare or assisted living setting. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of nutrition, food service management, and health regulation policies. As a key leader in our team, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals while maintaining compliance with health standards and managing a dynamic food service operation. Your expertise in managing food production, supervising staff, and implementing care plans will contribute significantly to the well-being of our residents or patients.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the dietary department, including supervising food service teams and ensuring efficient operations.
Develop and implement nutritious menus tailored to residents’ or patients’ dietary needs, preferences, and care plans.
Oversee food safety management practices, ensuring compliance with all health regulation policies and food service health codes.
Conduct patient assessments related to nutrition and dietary requirements, integrating findings into personalized care plans.
Manage budgeting, inventory control, and food cost analysis to optimize resource utilization while maintaining quality standards.
Supervise food production processes, ensuring proper food safety procedures and timely meal delivery.
Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems to document dietary assessments, care plans, and compliance activities.
Provide leadership in training staff on nutrition principles, food safety protocols, and regulatory compliance to foster a culture of excellence.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of dietary services through quality assurance measures and feedback mechanisms.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to incorporate clinical nutrition strategies and support overall patient or resident health outcomes.

Qualifications

Proven experience in dietary management within assisted living facilities, hospitals, or similar healthcare environments.
Strong knowledge of physiology, clinical nutrition, dietetics, and food safety management practices.
Demonstrated supervisory experience managing food service teams in a fast-paced setting.
Familiarity with health regulation policies related to food service health code compliance and acute care standards.
Experience with EMR/EHR systems for documenting care plans and nutritional assessments.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster collaborative work environments.
Competence in managing budgets, inventory control, and food production processes efficiently.
Knowledge of tube feeding procedures, diagnostic evaluation for nutritional needs, and care plan development is highly desirable.
