Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Equipment & Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. This hands-on role is responsible for keeping our production equipment running safely and efficiently — from drum roasters and grinders to VFFS and horizontal soft pod packaging machines. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic skills, a solid understanding of cGMPs, and a genuine commitment to workplace and food safety.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems on production and packaging equipment
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment including VFFS machines, horizontal soft pod packaging machines, drum roasters, grinders, conveyors, nitrogen/gas flush systems, and labelers/coders
- Support machine changeovers, upgrades, and process improvements
- Maintain and repair conveyors, piping, and compressed air systems
- Respond quickly to production breakdowns to minimize downtime
- Follow all safety and food safety protocols in accordance with our SQF program and cGMP standards
- Keep accurate maintenance records and support our developing PM program
- Maintain a clean, organized, and GMP-compliant work environment (5S practices)
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience as a Plant Mechanic, Equipment Technician, or similar industrial maintenance role
- Hands-on proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems — all three are required
- Experience with packaging machinery, conveyor systems, or food/beverage production equipment strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of cGMPs and experience in a regulated food manufacturing environment
- Strong safety mindset — you follow protocols and speak up when something isn’t right
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals
- Welding or fabrication experience a plus
- PLC familiarity (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) a plus
- Forklift certified or willing to certify
- High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or technical certifications a plus
