Full Job Description

Job Title: Authorization Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the operations team in the tracking and management of authorizations and appeals. This role requires strong knowledge of healthcare insurance authorizations, payer requirements, and documentation standards. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in working with insurance providers, clinicians, clients, and internal administrative teams. Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) authorizations and/or out-of-network specialty care authorizations is strongly preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Track authorization and appeal submissions for timely completions.
Analyze and identify action steps for authorization appeals based on determination documentation.
Review payer requirements to ensure compliance with authorization guidelines.
Serve as a client liaison for insurance-related communications, including clarifications and follow-ups on authorizations.
Communicate benefit information to prospective clients.
Research and information gathering to facilitate appeals process and document compiling.
Serve as a client-facing point of contact for insurance and authorization-related questions, providing timely updates and support to families and caregivers.
Collaborate with internal teams to complete related projects, process improvements, and administrative tasks as assigned.

Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels.
Strong knowledge of various technologies and software.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required.
Experience providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
Medical billing/authorizations knowledge is a plus - Applied Behavior Analysis or specialty care authorizations are preferred.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
