Reports To: Chef

Job Type: Full-Time

Hourly: Starting at $16.00

Job Summary

The Latin American Cuisine is seeking a reliable, motivated, and experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate is passionate about preparing quality food, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and teamwork. This position plays an essential role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
Set up and stock workstations with all necessary ingredients and supplies.
Ensure food is prepared efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
Properly store food and rotate inventory using FIFO procedures.
Assist with food preparation, portioning, and ingredient preparation.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure timely service.
Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing inventory.
Help minimize food waste and maintain cost-conscious kitchen practices.
Support the Chef with daily kitchen operations as needed.
Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to provide excellent guest service.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or restaurant cook preferred.
Experience preparing Latin American cuisine is a plus but not required.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
Strong work ethic with attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
Dependable, punctual, and a positive team player.
Food Handler or ServSafe certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hot kitchen environment.
Ability to perform repetitive motions, including bending, reaching, and lifting.
