Solidoors is a premier manufacturer of high-quality, custom wood doors and other wood products that specializes in large-scale residential and hospitality projects. We blend craftsmanship with careful planning and fabrication technology to deliver superior products that meet the most demanding architectural and design standards. Operating in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment, we ensure seamless execution from concept to completion.

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for reviewing architectural drawings, spreadsheets, door schedules, and hardware data sets to extract and organize relevant information for accurate quantity takeoffs, budgeting, and pricing analysis. This role is essential to ensuring competitive and profitable bids, managing specifications, and coordinating with developers to meet strict timelines. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to synthesize large data sets into clear, actionable matrices, and a keen eye for identifying discrepancies in project documents.

Note: this is a new business that requires individuals who are comfortable working in an entrepreneurial setting with an “all hands on deck” mentality. If you are searching for a standard 9-5 job, this may not be the position for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Millwork Knowledge:

Understand the construction of millwork, cabinetry, and paneling details to create informed pricing estimates for materials, finishes, and labor.
Experience in millwork fabrication to inform best-practices related to ordering and specifying products.
Ability to identify errors or discrepancies in architectural drawing sets related to cabinetry and millworker.

Data Analysis & Quantity Takeoffs:

Analyze architectural drawings, door schedules, shop drawings, and hardware specifications to extract relevant data.
Develop comprehensive matrices that account for all millwork, cabinetry, paneling, materials, finishes, quantities, and other attributes necessary for accurate pricing exercises and shop drawings.
Ensure that quantities and specifications are accurately calculated for budgeting and procurement purposes.

Budgeting & Pricing Analysis:

Prepare detailed cost estimates based on hardware pricing, material costs, labor, production, and shipping expenses.
Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to evaluate pricing structures and ensure competitive bids.
Identify and proactively communicate potential cost-saving opportunities or areas of concern based on project scope.

Accuracy & Discrepancy Resolution:

Cross-check architectural drawings against millworker schedules and hardware lists to identify/document inconsistencies or missing information.
Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to clarify discrepancies and ensure accurate data before finalizing estimates.
Prepare and submit RFIs (Requests for Information) when clarification is needed from architects, designers, or general contractors.

Collaboration, Organization, & Reporting:

Provide detailed reporting on material takeoffs, cost breakdowns, and pricing summaries for internal teams.
Assist in refining estimation processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in future projects.
Support the sales and project management teams by offering insights into project feasibility and cost structures.

Who You Are:

Highly proficient in spreadsheet creation, data analysis, and matrix development for organizing project details.
A strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture while managing the smallest of details.
An exceptional ability to read architectural drawings/schedules and identify inconsistencies or discrepancies between documents.
Proven experience in project takeoffs, estimations, scheduling, and/or budgeting
Strong systems-thinking skills—able to understand how one decision impacts other interrelated factors within a project.
Ability to prioritize projects based on company goals.
Familiarity with construction, woodworking, millwork, hardware, door manufacturing, or related construction/manufacturing field.
Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, etc.) and collaborative file management.
A dedicated professional who is always motivated to do their best work when duty calls, even if it requires working late or on weekends (with bonuses in recognition of this commitment).
Proficiency in , Procore, or other management software
Bonus: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, Excel, and/or relevant project management software.
Bonus: In-depth knowledge of door hardware, best practices related to installation, high-end millwork materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes.
Bonus: Fluency in Spanish and/or Mandarin

COMPENSATION

Annual Salary: $70,000 - $85,000
