About the Role:

The Certified Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting healthcare providers by delivering high-quality clinical and administrative assistance in a clinical setting. This position ensures efficient patient flow by preparing patients for examinations, recording vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures while maintaining strict adherence to healthcare regulations and safety protocols. The role demands a compassionate approach to patient care, effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, and meticulous attention to detail in managing patient records and documentation. The Certified Medical Assistant acts as a liaison between patients and healthcare professionals, facilitating a seamless healthcare experience and contributing to positive patient outcomes. Ultimately, this position is essential in enhancing the operational efficiency of medical facilities and supporting the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Minimum Qualifications:

Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program (e.g., CMA, RMA).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency in basic clinical procedures and medical terminology.
Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree in Medical Assisting or related healthcare field.
Valid CPR certification.
Experience working in a fast-paced outpatient or clinical environment.
Additional certifications such as Phlebotomy or EKG Technician.
Strong bilingual communication skills.
Familiarity with insurance billing and coding processes.

Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, medical histories, and recording symptoms.
Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures by handling instruments and supplies.
Manage patient documentation, including updating medical records and entering data into electronic health systems accurately.
Schedule patient appointments, coordinate referrals, and communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment.
