Job Purpose
The Digital Marketer exists to do two things: run the Museum's paid digital acquisition — deployed selectively for exhibits, Signature Public Programs, and ticket sales — and own the measurement discipline that makes every digital channel accountable, from conversion tracking through to what actually drove a ticket, membership, or donation. Discovery is changing; audiences increasingly encounter institutions through recommendations, summaries, and automated surfaces rather than keyword rankings, and automated ad platforms perform only as well as the conversion signals they're fed. Keeping those signals clean, and the Museum's web properties technically discoverable in that landscape, is the core of this role. The Communications team runs the Museum's organic social presence; the Digital Marketer works directly with Communications to amplify their strongest content through paid support, make its performance measurable, and feed what the data shows back into planning. The role also runs the Museum's email program and coordinates with the VP of Advancement and Marketing Communications on traditional channels.
Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and run paid campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads, YouTube, display) for exhibits, Signature Public Programs, and the visitation pathway
Own conversion tracking, UTM taxonomy, and GA4 event configuration; today's automated bidding performs only as well as the signals it's fed, and keeping those signals clean and reconciled against real ticket sales, memberships, and donations is this role's core craft — no campaign launches without complete tracking
Turn ongoing research, collections, and publishing work into content: social posts, targeted boosts, email features, and earned-media support
