The Hawaiʻi Afterschool Alliance (HAA) is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and strategic Community Schools Program Manager to help strengthen and expand the Community Schools movement across Hawaiʻi.
In this role, you'll work alongside schools, community organizations, government agencies, and statewide partners to improve outcomes for students and families. You'll lead professional learning, provide coaching and technical assistance, develop partnerships, support policy and advocacy efforts, and help shape statewide strategies that advance the Community Schools initiative.

What You'll Do
Leadership & Program Management
- Lead statewide initiatives that advance the Community Schools strategy in partnership with HAA leadership and key stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and organizational priorities are met.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement processes, including evaluation plans, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Assist with program budgets and ensure compliance with grant and funding requirements.
Professional Learning & Technical Assistance
- Design and facilitate engaging in-person and virtual trainings, workshops, and professional learning opportunities.
- Provide individualized coaching and technical assistance to Community School Coordinators, school leaders, and partner organizations.
- Develop practical tools, templates, and resources that support high-quality implementation of the Community Schools strategy.
- Assess training needs and design learning opportunities that strengthen the field.
Partnership Development & Collaboration
- Build and strengthen partnerships with schools, community-based organizations, businesses, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Plan and facilitate meetings, convenings, and collaborative workgroups with diverse audiences.
- Foster relationships that promote collaboration, shared learning, and systems change.
Policy, Communications & Advocacy
- Conduct research and policy analysis to inform advocacy efforts and statewide initiatives.
- Collaborate with partners to develop action plans that advance Community Schools policy priorities.
- Contribute to HAA's communications through newsletters, publications, website content, and social media to raise awareness of Community Schools.
Grants & Team Support
- Support grant writing, proposal development, reporting, and deliverable tracking.
- Provide guidance and supervision to student assistants, temporary staff, and project teams.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, Communications, Social Work, Sociology, Human Development, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Three or more years of progressively responsible experience managing programs or projects in education, youth development, community development, Community Schools, or a related field.
- Experience designing and facilitating trainings, coaching, or providing technical assistance.
- Experience building partnerships across organizations and sectors.
- Excellent written, verbal, public speaking, and facilitation skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Ability to analyze information, solve complex problems, and make sound decisions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace applications.
- Ability to travel throughout Hawaiʻi as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Public Administration, Human Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
- Experience with the Community Schools strategy.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and professional development practices.
- Experience writing or publishing research, reports, or educational resources.
