Wildlife & Livestock |$22–25/hr | Candia, NH
Most jobs give you one or the other. This one gives you both.
$22–25/hr based on experience · Full-time, year-round · Relocating? Temporary on-site housing available for your first 90 days
Charmingfare Farm in Candia, NH is a working farm and a year-round attraction. We cut our own hay, run events in every season, and ramp up hard for Christmas with sleigh rides whenever we get snow. It's physical, outdoor work in every kind of weather, and the animals need care every day - weekends and holidays included.
You've been paid to do this work before. You can walk up to an animal you've never met and know right away what's normal and what isn't. What you need from us is a quick orientation to our animals, our routines, and the property. After that, they're yours.
Wildlife and domestics, under one job
We're a USDA licensed exhibitor under the Animal Welfare Act, and we hold New Hampshire Fish & Game wildlife permits. Our native wildlife collection is managed to the same regulatory standard you'd work to at any licensed facility - inspections, records, enclosure requirements, all of it.
If you're a keeper who misses working with hooved stock, or a livestock person who's always wanted hands-on native wildlife experience, this is a rare role. Most places make you pick one.
What you'll do
- Prepare species-appropriate diets across wildlife and domestics
- Feed and run daily health checks
- Keep animal records current to USDA and Fish & Game standards
- Handle large domestic animals independently: leading, loading, routine handling
- Maintain enclosures, pastures, and fencing
- Help run haying and farm operations
- Lead animal care at our events, on site and off - including Christmas season and sleigh rides
What you need
- Paid experience caring for animals - livestock, equine, or a licensed wildlife or zoo facility
- Confident handling large domestic animals on your own: leading, loading, health checks, spotting illness or injury early
- Ready for physical outdoor work in every season, including a demanding holiday stretch
- Picks up new routines and a new property fast
- Reliable transportation, shows up when scheduled
- Weekends and holidays - the animals eat every day, no exceptions
- 18 or older
Zoo, wildlife, and rehab backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. Diet prep, daily health checks, enclosure maintenance, and regulatory record-keeping all transfer directly. If you've done that work at a licensed facility, we want to hear from you - we'll get you up to speed on the horses and cattle.
What you get
- $22–25/hr based on experience
- Year-round work - the hours don't disappear in February
- Hands-on experience across native wildlife and working domestic stock at a USDA licensed facility
- Relocation help: moving here for the job? A private room in our farmhouse is available rent-free for your first 90 days while you find your own place. Utilities and wifi included. Kitchen, bath, and laundry are shared, and there are dogs in the house.
- Season passes for your family
- Eggs, produce, and farm products
