Full Job Description

General Summary of Duties: This is a part-time paid position with the Institute for Human Services, Inc. (IHS), a nonprofit in Bath, NY. The position is responsible for leading and executing all outreach, education, and engagement efforts that elevate awareness, utilization, and impact of IHS programs. The coordinator works collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure IHS programs remain visible, trusted, and responsive to evolving community needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Plan, coordinate, and implement all outreach and education activities across the service area.

2. Develop and deliver engaging presentations to community groups, agencies, coalitions, businesses, and public officials.

3. Represent IHS programs at community events, meetings, conferences, and outreach opportunities.

4. Maintain outreach materials that clearly communicate services, eligibility, and impact.

5. Build, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with community organizations, nonprofits, healthcare providers, schools, local governments, and other stakeholders.

6. Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners regarding education, collaboration, and outreach initiatives.

7. Identify opportunities to expand partnerships that increase awareness, referrals, and resource collaboration.

8. Lead and manage special projects and grant-funded initiatives that support and enhance IHS’s program goals.

9. Coordinate project planning, timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements for assigned grants.

10. Collaborate with internal staff and external partners to ensure grant objectives are met effectively and on time.

11. Track outcomes and prepare data, narratives, and summaries demonstrating project impact and success.

12. Work closely with leadership and staff to align outreach strategies with program priorities and community needs.

13. Provide feedback from the community to inform service delivery, resource development, and system improvements.

14. Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, partnerships, presentations, and project outcomes.

15. Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge and Skills: The position requires the ability to work collaboratively, follow established protocols, solve problems, deliver engaging presentations to diverse audiences, manage projects, meet deadlines, and balance multiple priorities. The role also involves identifying community needs and resources related to human services programs. Proficiency in computer systems, internet use, and software applications—including Microsoft Word and Excel—is essential.

Qualifications: High school diploma required, associate degree preferred and experience in project management, human service, communications, customer service or related field.

Additional Requirements: Work Schedule is in person from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week. Some flexibility for weekend hours may be required to attend community events.
