Full Job Description

Gulf Coast Social Services Houma Region is hiring a full-time Scheduler for the HCBS / waiver programs. The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling Direct Service Workers across all assigned programs to ensure complete and accurate service implementation. The ideal candidate will possess good judgment, initiative and decision-making skills. The ability to read and write, good interpersonal skills, a working knowledge of business etiquette, the ability to represent the Agency in a professional manner and to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Essential Job Functions:

Scheduling direct service workers to provide services according to each client’s plan of care throughout HCBS programs.
Provide coverage to staffing issues, fill shifts that have become vacant, provide direct care services to ensure the continuity of care, as needed.
Create bi-weekly work schedules for each client and provide Program Coordinators and Program Director with master schedules.
Maintain regular communication with Program Coordinators regarding employee attendance.
Assist in training direct care workers and serve as a member of hiring committee when needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Applicant must posses a high school diploma or GED certificate with a minimum of one (1) year of direct service worker experience is required.
Good judgement, initiative, decision-making skills, ability to reach and write, good interpersonal skills, a working knowledge of business etiquette, the ability to represent the Agency in a professional manner, and to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
Good organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to handle multiple details stimultaneously.
Applicant must pass a criminal record background check and motor vehicle record check- If selected for the position.
For positions that require transportation of clients, potential drivers must be at least 23 years of age, have a valid Louisiana driver’s license (with 2 years of driving experience), current Louisiana auto liability insurance, current valid Louisiana auto registration and have access to a reliable vehicle in safe operating condition with current inspection stickers.
