Our client is hiring a General Manager to lead their Houston operation - a flagship market in the restoration industry that has recently transitioned to corporate ownership. This is a career-defining opportunity to architect a cultural transformation and drive operational excellence in one of America's most dynamic markets.
This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a servant leader who thrives on developing people and is energized by the challenge of building championship-level teams while driving sustainable, profitable growth.
THE WHO: Our client is now fully owned and operated by a corporate partnership group, representing a market-leading restoration company serving residential, institutional, and commercial customers across the United States and Canada. For over 50 years, they've served communities in times of need, and this Houston operation represents a flagship investment in their corporate growth strategy.
THE WHAT: You will be the leader of this operation - the coach, culture driver, and people developer who holds it all together. We're looking for a true "People-First Captain" - a servant leader, team builder, and mission-minded driver who can energize a talented team that has been starved for leadership attention and clear direction.
MUST HAVES: We are in search of a transformational people leader with a background in service-based business leadership. You will bring a strong mix of experience in people development, team building, revenue growth, and creating positive, high-performing cultures.
Success requires:
- 5-10+ years of service-based business leadership experience
- Proven people leadership with demonstrated ability to develop and retain talent
- Strong business acumen with P&L experience preferred
- Experience leading field-based operations teams
- Servant leadership mindset with genuine passion for developing others
- High energy and authentic positive leadership presence
THE WHY: This is about impact and legacy. The restoration industry helps communities and businesses navigate their most challenging times - floods, fires, emergencies, and disasters. You'll have the unique opportunity to lead a talented team that has incredible potential but needs the right leader to unlock their full capabilities while serving your community.
THE WHERE: This role is based in Houston, Texas - America's energy capital and 4th largest city. The position requires local market engagement and travel for team development, training, and company events.
THE HOW: There are three key strategic initiatives that this person will be initially tasked with:
- Team Engagement & Culture Transformation - Energize and develop the existing talented team through active coaching, regular one-on-one development sessions, and creating an environment where people feel valued, supported, and positioned for growth.
- Revenue Growth & Market Execution - Drive sales performance and profitability through hands-on leadership, systematic goal setting, and ensuring seamless integration between sales and operations teams.
- Leadership Development & Systematic Excellence - Implement structured training programs, clear communication channels, and accountability measures that create sustainable high performance across all departments.
THE NUTS & BOLTS: Base salary range of $125,000-150,000 plus performance-based bonus structure with significant upside potential tied directly to operational success. Total expected OTE of $180,000-220,000+ for high performers. Comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, 401k with company match, generous PTO, and professional development opportunities.

THE COMPANY & TEAM
Our client operates as a corporate-owned division of one of North America's leading restoration companies. This represents a significant strategic evolution - the Houston operation has recently transitioned from independent ownership to full corporate ownership, bringing enhanced resources, infrastructure, and executive support to accelerate growth and market dominance.
The Houston operation is a $20M+ flagship market with an established team of talented department leaders across operations, sales, and support functions. What makes this opportunity special is the transformation moment: a strong foundation of good people who have felt like "red-headed stepchildren" under previous leadership and are hungry for authentic leadership, clear direction, and genuine investment in their development.
YOUR DNA
- You are a people-first business leader and authentic team developer. A coach, an encourager, a culture builder, and someone who derives genuine satisfaction from watching others succeed and grow.
- You come to the table with emotional intelligence, servant leadership principles, humility, and a genuine care for people. You don't need to be the loudest or the smartest (and if anything, that would be a detriment in this culture), but you do need to lead with conviction, authenticity, accountability, and heart.
- You bring a "roll up your sleeves" mentality combined with a coaching mindset. You love getting into the trenches with your team, providing active training and support, and navigating success through consistent investment in people and systematic execution.
- You are energetic and positive without being inauthentic. You create environments where people want to work and where celebrating wins becomes natural. You understand that high performance comes from people feeling valued, supported, and clearly directed rather than managed through fear or pressure.
- You are motivated by seeing others succeed - whether that's developing a project manager into a department leader, helping a sales person hit their goals, or watching your team members grow their careers and capabilities. You measure success not just by profit margins, but by the people you've impacted and developed.
- You have a deep understanding of service-based businesses and how to drive results through people engagement, systematic processes, clear accountability, and genuine relationship building.
- You bring a mixture of heart, authenticity, and care combined with business acumen, systematic thinking, and results-driven execution. You understand that sustainable success requires both strong relationships and strong systems.
