Full Job Description

Job Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Lathe Machinist, where your expertise will drive precision and efficiency in producing high-quality components. In this energetic role, you will operate and set up CNC lathes, interpret detailed blueprints, and utilize advanced measuring instruments to ensure every part meets strict specifications. Your mechanical knowledge and passion for manufacturing will contribute to streamlined production processes, supporting our commitment to excellence and innovation.

Duties

Operate CNC lathe machines to produce complex parts with precision and consistency
Machine new and repair/service tools as needed by the Production Manager
Maintain print tolerances down to 0.001 inch
Assist the Production Manager in programming instructions for CNC equipment
Program CNC lathes using CAM software and make adjustments as needed for optimal performance
Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications
Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces efficiently using hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators
Conduct quality checks and document dimensional and visual information on machined parts
Properly indicate parts on machines to reduce non-conforming parts
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and procedures
Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use
Assist maintenance in identifying and performing equipment repairs
Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives when applicable
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
Minimum 3 years experience as a CNC machine operator
Experience using one or more of the following numerically controlled tools: lathe, milling machine, drill press, vertical/horizontal cut off saw, vertical turret lathe, and horizontal boring mill.

Skills

Work independently without direct supervision
Ability to utilize dimensional inspection equipment mics and calipers to 1/1000”
Ability to interpret drawings
Manual dexterity for operating machinery and computers
Ability to read and write
Physical strength and stamina for manual handling of items
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Some advanced mathematical skills

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
