Territory Sales Representative (Houston, TX)

Who We Are

Smash My Trash is revolutionizing the commercial waste industry. We provide mobile waste compaction services primarily to manufacturing, distribution, transportation, and service customers. Our service solves many of the pain points associated with waste and helps our customers cut their costs and environmental footprint while improving operational efficiency and enhancing site safety.

Our business model is simple: we use proprietary technology to compact waste in open-top dumpsters to increase dumpster capacity by as much as 70%, leading to customers savings 20%+ on their waste hauling. We service most of our customers via a routed schedule with recurring contracts.

We are a rapidly growing multi-unit franchisee within the Smash My Trash system, operating a 30+ truck fleet across Texas, Tennessee, Kentucky, New York, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Since launching in June 2022 with just one truck and operator, we have expanded significantly and are now building the infrastructure to support substantial growth over the next 3-5 years.

You’re equally comfortable walking an industrial yard, presenting to an operations manager, or negotiating with an owner. We are seeking a Territory Sales Representative in Houston to drive new customer acquisition and revenue growth across our expanding territories. This role is responsible for managing the full sales cycle – from prospecting and cold outreach to on-site meetings, proposals, and closing deals. You’ll be the face of Smash My Trash in your market, building relationships with decision-makers across manufacturing, distribution, and related sectors while representing a service that delivers tangible cost savings and operational value.

Key Responsibilities

Prospecting & Pipeline Development: Drive new business through high-volume cold calling and daily in-person prospecting across assigned territories. This is a field-first, activity-heavy role – success depends on a relentless cadence of cold calls and face-to-face outreach
In-Person Selling: Get in front of prospects. Conduct face-to-face presentations and product demos on-site to communicate value and secure new contracts. Booking demos primarily happens in person, in the field.
Territory Management: Plan and execute efficient daily travel routes to maximize in-person coverage, canvass target accounts consistently, and keep the pipeline full through sustained prospecting volume.
Sales Process Execution: Run the full cycle – book the demo, complete demo prep and account research, deliver the demo, and close. Typical sales cycle runs 3-4 weeks.
Proposal & Negotiation: Develop and deliver proposals tailored to customer needs, handle objections effectively, and close new business.
Collaboration: Partner with operations and service teams to ensure a smooth handoff from sale to service launch and ongoing customer satisfaction.
CRM & Reporting: Log all call, visit, and pipeline activity accurately in the CRM, and report key metrics (call volume, demos booked, close rates) to sales leadership.
Market Intelligence: Stay informed on local market conditions, competitor activity, and customer feedback to help shape territory strategy.

Qualifications

2-5 years of outside or field sales experience (B2B or service-based sales preferred).
Proven ability to generate leads, manage a pipeline, and close business.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Highly organized with strong time management and follow-up abilities.
Comfortable using CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot) to manage territory activity.
Self-starter with a strong work ethic, resilience, and sense of ownership.
Experience in industrial, logistics, or environmental services is a plus.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel locally within the assigned market.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
