Job Responsibilities:
The Reliability Engineer identifies and resolves risks to Air Liquide's production and business operations. This role involves coaching site personnel on equipment best practices and analyzing maintenance data to enhance plant availability and asset uptime. The engineer ensures successful solution implementation and collaborates with the Reliability team, Subject Matter Experts, and Plant Management to develop strategies that minimize reliability incidents and their associated costs.
Ensures safe, efficient, and reliable asset operations as relates to self and others during operational, maintenance, optimization and troubleshooting activities
Implements continuous improvement strategies and provides constructive feedback on the Air Liquide programs and initiatives
Follows all AL Policies and Standard Operating and Maintenance Procedures.
Ability to work towards the role as a Technical Expert in reliability and maintenance
Follows governmental rules and engineering standards: (API, ASME, ANSI, NBIC, NFPA, etc)
Ability to read and interpret company industrial/quality standards and local documents
Leads and/or participates in RCA (Root Cause Analysis) investigations
Utilizes and understands Enterprise Asset Management system (Maximo)
Responsible for identifying reliability threats and driving improvements for the top 10 threats to production
Ownership of the reliability performance of the facility that they are supporting
Ensures equipment technologies and maintenance strategies are applied uniformly throughout the facility.
Reviews and optimizes predictive and preventive Work Orders Job Plans with the support of Subject Matter Experts across multiple disciplines. (Rotating, Stationary, Instrumentation, Electrical)
Reviews, and approves maintenance job plans
Follows up with Plants to ensure corporate PM/PdM matrix goals are being met
Collects, Organizes, Analyzes, Interprets, and prioritizes preventive and/or predictive maintenance data as relates to mechanical inspections and condition based monitoring (vibration, oil analysis, IR analysis, data mining, predictive analytics, etc.)
Conducts reliability data analysis –examples include but are not limited to: statistical Process Control, Reliability modeling and prediction, Data mining, Fault Tree Analysis, Mean Time To Repair, Mean Time Between Failure, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Return on Net Assets plant/zone availability and reliability
Generates Reliability Event reports in Air Liquide’s industrial Reporting Software/Database
Reviews and analyzes reliability incidents. Identifies trends and proposes long-term solutions, supports execution of solutions at the facility level.
Supports Predictive Maintenance Programs (Vibration, Transformer Oil, Rotating Equipment Oil, PD motor monitoring and Thermography - Electrical Equipment.
Collaborates with Maintenance & Operations Teams
Solves complex problems: takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
Participates in facility Maintenance Planning and Execution meetings to identify recurring equipment issues and concerns.
Supports implementation of the AL Mechanical Integrity Program
Participates in scope development and turnaround activities, activity supports on site turnaround activities from a reliability engineering perspective.
Leads Production Site Monthly Reliability Meetings
Facilitates Reliability reviews for primary production plants and pipeline networks
Participates in PSSR’s as requested
Provides recommendations to optimize asset maintenance, critical spare parts, rebuild and inspection costs
Optimizes current maintenance strategies based upon the RCA or Industry Best Practices
Implements continuous improvement strategies
Identifies and recommends solutions and processes that are sustainable
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering with 5 years of related reliability engineering, operations or maintenance & reliability activities required.
Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
Extensive working knowledge of machinery, process equipment and associated reliability or maintenance practices.
Ability to work self directed and make sound decisions Able to travel as required.
Provide 24/7 production support as needed during turnaround periods.

Complies with all Air Liquide Business Entity Maintenance Strategy Guidelines and follows Industry Best Practices
Complies with all government Health and Safety regulatory agencies (OSHA, MSHA, FDA, EPA, etc)
Monitors and generates reports on maintenance performance standards and activities
Physical Requirements:
Physical range of motion required to climb/descend ladders, work off elevated platforms/surfaces at heights above 50 feet; inspect equipment in high elevation areas (cooling tower fans, gearboxes, Fin Fans, compressor decks, etc)
Has full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs
Able to enter confined spaces for inspection/testing while wearing fall restraint and respirators
Ability to travel as needed and on short notice if necessary
Can be consulted 24/7 by Operations and Industrial Direction Departments
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior industrial gas experience
Maintenance Engineering experience with typical petrochemical plant equipment
Detailed knowledge of Maintenance and Reliability Best Practices
Excellent project management skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent practical and the theoretical Mechanical skills (Primary Discipline)
Cross-Functional Discipline Experience a plus (Operations, Rotating Equipment, Electrical (HV, MV, LV) and /or Instrumentation),
Experience in Google, MS and other software applications
