Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an Import Clerk that supports the day-to-day import operations by coordinating customer communications, maintaining import documentation, assisting with customs-related processes, and ensuring timely cargo movement. This position requires excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Client Coordination

Provide proactive status updates to clients for shipments
Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person in a timely and professional manner
Confirm port release and pick up availability with vendors and clients
Coordinate with vendors, terminals, and transportation providers to facilitate timely cargo movement.

Import Documenation & Compliance

Review import documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to processing.
File and maintain import documentation in accordance with internal and federal procedures
Print and submit required customs documentation to Customs and clients

Additional Support

Maintain accurate electronic and physical records in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain internal tracking of port contacts, fees, and other necessary information to support cargo releases and issues.
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support import operations and team objectives.

Required Skills & Competencies

Fluency in English and Spanish
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proactive customer service mindset
Strong problem-solving and quick decision-making skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Growth-oriented, inquisitive, and eager to learn

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred (Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field)
Previous administrative, customer service, logistics, or import/export experience preferred
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
