Full Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Resident Engagement Coordinator is responsible for building strong, supportive relationships with residents and creating a welcoming, inclusive community environment. This role develops and implements programs, events, and engagement strategies that enhance resident well-being, support housing stability, and foster a sense of belonging. The Resident Engagement Coordinator is a member of the Resident Programs and Services (RSP) team and collaborates with Property Management, Compliance, and community partners to ensure residents have access to resources and opportunities that promote personal growth and long-term success.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate on-site programs, workshops, and events that encourage resident participation and community connection.
Oversee pantry operations once per month, ensuring it is well-stocked and organized.
Conduct regular resident outreach through door-to-door engagement, phone calls, surveys, and community meetings.
Foster a positive and inclusive community culture by encouraging resident involvement and leadership.
Support volunteer activities and peer-led initiatives.
Conduct a short intake with residents to track their attendance in services offered
Provide basic resource assistance, answering questions and connecting residents to appropriate internal or external services, and advocate when needed (e.g., health, employment, food access, education).
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local social service agencies and community resources.
Assist residents experiencing early signs of housing instability by alerting the Property Management team on-site.
Establish trust and positive relationships with the residents through active listening and providing support.
Provide support to residents and property staff during disasters.
Track attendance, engagement levels, and program outcomes using designated systems.
Maintain accurate records of resident interactions, referrals, and services provided.
Manage program budgets, supplies, and vendor relationships in coordination with leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School Diploma

Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university. (preferred)

Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly.

- Ability to facilitate group activities and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

- Creative problem-solving and program-planning abilities.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, case management platforms, or data-entry systems.

- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends to support resident events.

- Strong time-management skills with an ability to prioritize wisely, work independently, customize work products and adapt to changing demands.

- Strategic thought process with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.

- Effective approach to collaboration as a team player.

- Positive, confident, and results-oriented attitude with a service-oriented spirit.

Essential Physical Functions:

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform duties requiring standard mobility and strength.
