Junior Sales Loan Consultant
ARF Financial | Small Business Lending | Remote / Home Office — Greater Houston, TX Area | Base Salary + Commission
About ARF Financial
Since 2001, ARF Financial has been the #1 trusted source for restaurant loans, hospitality financing, and retail funding nationwide. We've helped tens of thousands of businesses secure over $1 billion in funding through exclusive relationships with state-chartered community banks across the country. Our innovative loan products — including Bankroll, our revolving line of credit, and IO-Bankroll — give business owners the working capital they need with fixed terms up to 36 months and tax-deductible interest.
About the Role
We are looking for driven, coachable individuals to join our team as Junior Sales Loan Consultants. This is a remote, work-from-home opportunity; however, candidates must be located in the Greater Houston, Texas area (Houston and surrounding communities such as Rosenberg, Richmond, Sugar Land, Katy, Pearland, and League City) to support in-person onboarding, training, and periodic team sessions.
This role is built for someone with 1–2 years of experience in sales, finance, or banking/lending who is ready to grow a career in small business lending — without the grind of cold calling from scratch.
You will be personally trained by ARF Financial's Chief Sales Officer, who will teach you ARF's products, sales process, and how to work within an established book of business. You'll spend your first six months training and working within the CSO's team book of business. Once you're trained and producing, you'll deploy into another team where you'll work across several Senior Loan Officers' books of business to support team production and continue building your career.
Your day-to-day will include nurturing the team's referral partner book of business by reaching out to dormant referral partners to re-establish deal flow, re-engaging former clients with new financing options, and following up with merchants who were previously approved but never funded to get them back to the table with fresh solutions to review.
You will be working within established books of business from day one while simultaneously building your own network of business relationships and referral partnerships.
How You Get Paid
This role offers a base salary of $55,000–$60,000 plus commission. You earn upfront commission per the compensation plan on every deal you close — meaning your total compensation grows with every deal on top of a stable base.
Base Salary: $55,000–$60,000 annually
Commission: Upfront commission per the compensation plan on each closed deal
Earning Potential: Base + uncapped commission — top producers earn well beyond base
Pay Timing: Salary on regular payroll; commissions paid on the 15th and last day of each month
What You'll Do
- Train directly with ARF's Chief Sales Officer on loan products (Bankroll, IO-Bankroll, term loans), the sales process, and how to work within an established book of business
- Once trained, deploy into a team to work across several Senior Loan Officers' books of business and support overall team production
- Nurture the referral partner book by calling on dormant referral partners to re-establish relationships and generate new deal flow
- Re-engage former clients to present new financing options and identify renewal or refinance opportunities
- Follow up with approved-but-not-funded merchants to bring them back to the table with fresh solutions to review
- Conduct client and partner consultations by phone or video from your home office
- Manage your pipeline using Salesforce CRM and follow ARF's structured sales process
- Attend virtual training sessions, in-person Houston-area coaching sessions, and team meetings to continue sharpening your skills
Who We're Looking For
We're seeking early-career professionals with a foundation we can build on. The right candidate has:
- 1–2 years of experience in sales, finance, or banking/lending — for example: inside or outside sales, leasing or insurance sales, bank teller or personal banker roles, loan processing or servicing, credit or collections, or a finance/lending internship plus work experience
- Location in the Greater Houston, Texas area — required for in-person training and team development
- A competitive drive and strong work ethic — you're motivated by results, not a clock
- Excellent communication and people skills — you're comfortable talking to anyone by phone or video
- Coachability — you take feedback well and apply it immediately; you haven't locked into someone else's sales habits yet
- Reliability — you show up when you say you will
- An entrepreneurial mindset — you think like a business owner, not an employee
- A dedicated home office space with reliable internet connection
Preferred education: A degree or coursework with a concentration in finance, sales, marketing, business, banking, or a related field is strongly preferred. Equivalent hands-on experience in sales or lending is also valued.
Ideal backgrounds we've seen succeed:
- Recent finance, sales, marketing, business, or communications graduates with 1–2 years of relevant work or internship experience
- Early-career professionals in banking, lending, credit, or financial services looking to move into a revenue-generating sales role
- Sales professionals with 1–2 years in retail, leasing, insurance, B2B, or inside sales ready to specialize in lending
- Competitive backgrounds — including athletes and former student-athletes — with a drive to control their own income
Training & Development Path
Months 1–6 — CSO Training: Train directly with the Chief Sales Officer and work within their team's book of business. Learn ARF's loan products, sales process, CRM workflow, referral partner management, and client re-engagement strategies. You'll also train with the Sales Operations scrubbing team to learn how to review and evaluate a file, giving you a complete understanding of the deal from submission through funding. Close deals and earn commissions while building your skills under direct CSO mentorship.
Week 26+ — Team Deployment: Deploy into another team to work across several Senior Loan Officers' books of business. Apply everything you've learned to support team production, nurture referral partner relationships, re-engage former clients, and continue building your own network of business.
Your Career Path — From Junior to Senior
This isn't a dead-end entry-level job. Junior Sales Loan Consultants who prove themselves have a clear advancement path into a Senior Loan Officer position, where you'll lead your own team and build your own book of business.
As a Senior Loan Officer at ARF Financial, you'll be supported by a full team built around your success:
- Senior Loan Officer — Leads the team, manages client relationships, closes deals, and builds the book of business. This is where you're headed.
- Sales Assistant — Provides day-to-day administrative and sales support, helping the Senior Loan Officer stay focused on revenue-generating activity.
- Sales Operations — Scrubs and prepares files, ensuring deals move smoothly through underwriting and funding so the team can focus on selling.
When you advance to Senior Loan Officer, you won't be doing it alone. You'll have a dedicated team behind you so you can focus on what matters most — building relationships and closing deals.
