Full Job Description

Norris Training Systems, LLC – dba Norris Conference Centers, Red Oak Ballroom and The ARK by Norris, owns/operates 5 venues across Central Texas, one each in Austin and San Antonio, and 3 venues in Houston.

The President is tasked with strategic leadership, setting the company's overall direction, vision, and strategic goals, and ensuring they are effectively implemented. This includes identifying market opportunities, developing growth plans, and adapting to changing circumstances. Must have prior President-level experience with an organization with sales of $10m or above.

Key Responsibilities

Detailed understanding and execution of financial processes for the properties business, including, but not limited to, overseeing the preparation of financial statements and all associated reports relevant to the business. Develops means to improve profit and overall business performance, including estimating costs and benefits, exploring new business opportunities, etc.
Analyzes information, forecasts sales against expenses, and creates annual budget plans.
Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute, and implement new business plans.
Creates the annual operating budget for each property.
Provides analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities for each property.
Ensures a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations, and profitability.
Produces accurate forecasts that enable operations to react to changes in the business.
Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision-making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
Leverages strong functional leadership and communication skills to influence the property's sales strategies and to lead own team.
Manages communication with owners and other stakeholders in an effective manner.
Manages property working capital and cash flow in accordance with budget
Ensures that the P&L is accurate (e.g., costs are properly matched to revenue costs and are recorded in the proper accounts).
Strong experience in business development and achieving sales goals via other team members
Maintains close relations with venue team members to ensure effective action is taken on agreed-upon recommendations.
Business Acumen - Understanding and utilizing business information.

Required Qualifications

Five years' minimum President experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Superior user capabilities in computer software products, including QuickBooks
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form with the public as well as team members.
Essential statistical and analytical skills required to identify revenue opportunities and shortfalls.
Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and in the proper manner.
Self-starter and possesses excellent presentation skills,
Proven track record of success
Effective decision-making skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills
May be required to work varying schedules
Good communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
Effective conflict management skills
Strong customer and colleague relationship skills

Some travel will be required.

College Degree Require.
