Bilingual Medical Receptionist (English/Spanish)Position Summary

NW Surgery Center is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Bilingual Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. This role is essential to ensuring a smooth, professional, and compassionate patient experience in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center. This is for the AM shift, which requires early start times.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as facility receptionist and scheduler - this is a team of multiple people.
Greet patients and visitors and assist with admitting virtual paperwork
Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, families, physicians, attorneys, and coworkers
Schedule new patients as orders are received
Verify insurance benefits and calculate patient responsibility amounts
Obtain pre-certifications for procedures, as needed
Route incoming calls appropriately and take accurate messages
Receive and distribute mail and special deliveries
Notify nursing staff when patients arrive and have completed required paperwork
Track patient transportation and accompanying family members
Ensure medical representatives are properly badged and compliant with confidentiality policies
Prepare charts by printing labels, forms, and assembling required documentation prior to appointments
Contact appropriate agencies for emergency assistance when necessary
Perform additional clerical and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role with comparable responsibilities
Prior experience as a Medical Receptionist and/or in an Ambulatory Surgery Center required
Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written) required
Excellent communication skills with patients, coworkers, physicians, and attorney offices
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Highly organized, task-oriented, and comfortable handling a high volume of calls and scheduling
Reliable, punctual, and able to adhere strictly to facility policies and procedures
Team-oriented mindset with a professional demeanor
