Job Summary

IWT Distribution is seeking a driven, personable Brand Ambassador / Sales Representative to grow our wholesale accounts and build brand presence throughout the Houston, Texas market. We distribute hemp products, nicotine vapes, tobacco, and other nicotine products to smoke shops, vape shops, convenience stores, gas stations, and regional distributors.

This is a part-time, commission-based role with uncapped earning potential — your income is directly tied to the accounts you open and the volume you move. There is no ceiling on what you can earn.

This is a hybrid sales and brand-building position. You'll spend your time on the road opening new wholesale accounts, servicing and growing existing ones, and running in-store Brand Awareness Pop-Ups that put our products directly in front of adult consumers at the point of sale. You'll be the face of IWT Distribution to store owners and buyers — the person they call when they need product, pricing, or answers.

Reliable transportation is required, as this role involves daily travel between retail accounts across the Houston metro area.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable with cold outreach, quick to build rapport, organized enough to manage a book of accounts, and disciplined about compliance in a heavily regulated industry. The flexible part-time schedule makes this a strong fit for someone building a second income stream or working around another commitment.

Duties

Wholesale Sales & Account Development

Prospect and open new wholesale accounts through in-person cold calls, referrals, and follow-up on inbound leads across an assigned territory.
Present our full product line to store owners and buyers, communicating margins, sell-through data, pricing tiers, and promotional programs.
Manage and grow an existing book of accounts through regular route visits, reorders, and proactive check-ins.
Negotiate orders, handle pricing objections, and close sales while protecting company margin.
Build relationships with regional distributors and multi-location chains to expand distribution footprint.
Track shelf placement, competitor products, and pricing in the field, and report market intelligence back to management.

Brand Awareness Pop-Ups

Plan, schedule, and execute in-store pop-up events at participating retail locations to drive product awareness and sell-through.
Educate adult consumers on product features, flavor profiles, hardware differences, and proper use during pop-up events.
Coordinate with store staff on scheduling, setup, POS materials, displays, and event logistics.
Set up and maintain branded displays, signage, and merchandising at partner locations.
Report event results — traffic, engagement, units moved, and consumer feedback — after each activation.

Account Support & Administration

Maintain accurate account records, call logs, and pipeline activity in our CRM.
Coordinate with the warehouse and operations team on order fulfillment, delivery timing, and issue resolution.
Follow up on outstanding invoices and payment terms in coordination with accounting.
Support product launches with targeted outreach to key accounts.

Compliance

Verify that all accounts hold current, valid tobacco and/or hemp licensing as required by state and local law before servicing.
Ensure all pop-up activity, product handling, and promotional material complies with federal, state, and local regulations — including age-verification requirements and restrictions on sampling and advertising.
Represent the company professionally and lawfully in all customer-facing interactions.

Qualifications

Required

Must be 21 years of age or older (required by federal and Texas state law for the sale and handling of tobacco and nicotine products).
Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record.
Willingness to travel daily throughout the Houston metro area and surrounding communities, including Harris County and adjacent markets.
Strong verbal communication skills and genuine comfort with in-person cold outreach.
Demonstrated ability to handle objections and close sales while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor.
Self-motivated and able to manage your own schedule, route, and pipeline with minimal supervision.
Ability to lift and carry product cases and display materials (up to [XX] lbs).
Must pass a background check.

Preferred

Prior outside sales, B2B, route sales, or wholesale distribution experience.
Familiarity with the hemp, vape, tobacco, or smoke shop retail category — including product knowledge across disposables, e-liquids, hardware, hemp-derived products, and traditional tobacco.
Existing relationships with smoke shops, vape shops, or convenience store buyers in the Houston area.
Experience running demos, activations, trade show booths, or promotional events.
Comfort with CRM software, retail POS systems, mobile order-entry tools, and basic reporting.
Content creation skills for social media coverage of pop-up events and product launches.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) — a major advantage in the Houston retail market.
