Full Job Description

Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead and oversee heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in earthwork, underground utilities, roadways, bridges, and public infrastructure projects, with a proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all phases of heavy civil construction projects.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts.
Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Manage project documentation, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Field Operations

Direct and supervise field personnel, foremen, and subcontractors.
Plan and coordinate daily construction activities and workforce utilization.
Ensure work is completed according to project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Monitor productivity and implement improvements to maximize efficiency.
Resolve field issues and construction challenges proactively.

Safety & Compliance

Promote and enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and jobsite audits.
Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and DOT requirements.
Maintain a strong culture of safety and accountability.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
Attend project meetings and provide progress updates.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

Required

8+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
3+ years in a Superintendent or equivalent leadership role.
Experience managing projects valued at $10M+.
Strong knowledge of:
- Earthwork and grading
- Underground utilities
- Roadway and highway construction
- Public works infrastructure
Experience managing subcontractors and self-perform crews.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
