Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking an organized and customer-focused Fleet Manager to oversee daily transportation operations. This role involves coordinating vehicle dispatches, managing communication with drivers and clients and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. The Fleet Manager will play a vital role in maintaining efficient transportation services while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, experience with transportation management systems, and the ability to handle phone communications effectively; also preferably with knowledge on Semi-truck mechanical issues and networks of repair shops.

Duties

Manage daily dispatch operations, ensuring timely and efficient vehicle deployment in accordance with customer needs and operational requirements
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, drivers, and internal teams via phone communication, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
Utilize vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems to schedule, track, and optimize routes and deliveries
Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety standards across all transportation activities
Oversee phone call management to coordinate dispatch activities, relay important information, and maintain clear communication channels
Organize and prioritize daily tasks to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of services
Monitor driver performance and adherence to schedules while providing support as needed to resolve logistical challenges
Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, vehicle logs, and regulatory documentation

Skills

Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone
Proficiency in vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems
Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards applicable to transportation operations
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Effective phone call management skills for coordinating dispatch activities and resolving issues quickly
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Problem-solving skills to address logistical challenges proactively
Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments

Pay: $5,000.00 - $7,000.00 per month
