Diagnostic Imaging Technologist Assistant role at The

Responsibilities
Patient Support and Transport
- Retrieve patients from waiting rooms, holding areas, or nursing floors
- Escort patients safely to and from imaging rooms and departments
- Provide full attention to patient needs, comfort, and environment
Patient Care and Safety
- Correctly identify patients using approved identifiers
- Implement safety and fall precautions and communicate needs to the care team
- Recognize signs of patient distress and initiate emergency procedures including nurse or physician notification, DIURT, or CODE
Environment and Equipment Readiness
- Clean and maintain prep rooms and imaging rooms
- Ensure work areas and equipment are safe, clean, and organized
- Stock supplies and identify supply needs to ensure patient readiness
Communication and Professionalism
- Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, guests, and care providers
- Use communication tools responsibly, including whiteboards, paging systems, telephones, email, and fax
- Demonstrate respect, courtesy, and teamwork in all interactions
Additional Duties
- Actively assist colleagues and support overall department operations
- Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
EDUCATION

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent and

Required: Current enrollment the Diagnostic Imaging program within the School of Health Professions at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
