Full Job Description

Alliance Benefit Group of Houston, Inc. (ABG) is one of the fastest growing pension administration and recordkeeping firms in Texas. We provide services to all types of qualified retirement plans, with particular emphasis on 401(k) plans. We are committed to service and believe this is one of the strongest assets we have to offer to our clients.

Located in Houston, Texas, we are seeking a professional, energetic, and experienced Sales Representative to take responsibility for sales activities from the lead generation through close of sale in Houston Texas, and local surrounding areas. This position will be responsible for initiating sales and managing relationships with brokers, clients, and vendors to meet the needs of our clients and achieve desirable plan management outcomes, through our consulting capabilities, plan administration solutions and services.

Duties:

Prospect, cultivate, and support relationships with influence to generate sales leads by consistently articulating our vision and value proposition.
Assume full accountability for client relationship and satisfaction from a service perspective through close interaction with brokers and external clients providing written or verbal communications directly.
Individuals must be able to ensure client satisfaction by prioritizing deliverables and responsibilities, using sound judgment with all client interactions with the ability to recognize potential problem situations and initiate action to resolve them appropriately.
The ability to work with internal departmental support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term relationships and account goals.
The ability to communicate and explain plan design and ABG’s implementation process directly with clients, service managers and other external/internal customers.
Must achieve sales quotas and meet deadlines.
Participate in various marketing events as needed or required.

Understanding of TPA, recordkeeper, financial advisor and investment provider dynamics
Ability to articulate plan design strategies (Safe Harbor, profit sharing, automatic enrollment, etc.)
High self-direction

Strong follow-through
Competitive
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.
QPFC, QKA or equivalent designation a plus.

Qualifications:

Requires minimum of 4 years of experience in retirement plan administration with a BS in Business or related major.
Must be familiar with and capable of interpreting plan documents and product contract provisions.
Must be highly motivated with excellent organizational skills which include careful prioritization of responsibilities, proactive/candid communications, and the use of sound judgment in all relationship interactions.
Independent self-starter/motivated with the ability to work effectively as an individual or in a diverse work group environment.
Consultative approach, problem solver, and sales aptitude.
Demonstrable communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
Must be tenacious on the phone – willing to reach out to new people.
Excellent organization, planning, presentation and selling skills.
Working relationships with Houston Financial Advisors are a plus.
Effectively manage travel and business entertainment expenses.
