Full Job Description

Nurse Practitioner – Pain Management

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our pain management team. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' quality of life through evidence-based treatment plans, patient education, and ongoing care management.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and pain assessments.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans for patients with chronic and acute pain conditions.
Manage patients with conditions such as back and neck pain, neuropathy, arthritis, joint pain, post-surgical pain, and other musculoskeletal disorders.
Prescribe medications and monitor effectiveness while promoting safe opioid prescribing practices and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Perform follow-up evaluations and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies and imaging.
Collaborate with physicians regarding interventional pain procedures and treatment recommendations.
Educate patients on pain management strategies, medication use, lifestyle modifications, and treatment expectations.
Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Participate in care coordination with primary care providers, specialists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Monitor compliance with treatment agreements, urine drug screening protocols, and prescription monitoring program requirements.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, clinic policies, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or related specialty.
DEA registration and prescriptive authority as required by state regulations.
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

Experience in pain management, physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedics, neurology, spine care, rheumatology, or primary care.
Familiarity with chronic pain treatment modalities and evidence-based pain management practices.
Experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
Knowledge of opioid prescribing guidelines, controlled substance regulations, and risk mitigation strategies.
Experience managing patients undergoing interventional pain procedures, including epidural steroid injections, joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, or other pain management therapies.
Experience interpreting imaging studies and coordinating multidisciplinary treatment plans.

Pay: From $65.00 per hour
