About the Opportunity
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly changing how businesses operate, and RESOLUT RE is looking for a technically strong student to build, deploy, and maintain AI-powered applications that our brokers use every day.
This is not a traditional internship focused on observation or administrative work. You won't be making coffee or sitting on the sidelines. You will sit with brokers to understand how they actually work, translate what you learn into working software, ship it on Microsoft Azure, and then support and improve it as real users put it under load.
We are looking for someone who owns software end to end, from requirements through deployment, monitoring, and iteration, and who is comfortable being responsible for applications that people depend on to do their jobs.
We know this is an ambitious internship. We aren't expecting a student with years of professional experience or mastery of every technology listed below. We're looking for someone who has already gone beyond the classroom, enjoys figuring things out, and has demonstrated the ability to build real applications. If you've taught yourself technologies, built meaningful projects, or experimented with AI and software development beyond your coursework, we want to hear about it.
What You'll Do
Build applications for brokers
- Work directly with brokers and operations staff to understand their workflows and turn real business problems into working applications.
- Build broker-facing solutions for areas such as lease and document abstraction, deal and comp search, market research, content generation, pipeline reporting, and client deliverables.
- Build clean, usable interfaces and APIs and improve them based on feedback from actual users.
Apply Agentic AI and RAG
- Build RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) applications using company documents and data, including document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, vector/hybrid search, reranking, and grounded citations.
- Develop agentic AI workflows that can call tools, query internal systems, and complete multi-step business tasks with appropriate human oversight.
- Evaluate output quality and improve retrieval, prompts, and agent behavior based on measurable results.
Build, deploy, and support what you create
- Work through the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Use version control, code review, testing, and CI/CD practices appropriate for production software.
- Deploy and operate applications on Microsoft Azure using services such as Azure OpenAI / Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, App Service, Functions, Container Apps, Storage, and Key Vault.
- Monitor applications for errors, performance, latency, and cost, and make improvements as usage grows.
- Document your work so the team can support and build upon it after the internship.
- Present working demos, findings, and completed projects to company leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated ability to build a complete application beyond basic scripts or notebooks through coursework, personal projects, prior internships, or other experience.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Experience with or demonstrated knowledge of agentic AI concepts such as tool/function calling and multi-step orchestration using frameworks such as Azure AI Agent Service, Semantic Kernel, LangGraph, LangChain, MCP, or similar technologies.
- Experience with or demonstrated knowledge of RAG applications, including concepts such as document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, retrieval, prompt design, and grounding.
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud environments, with an interest in developing deeper Azure experience.
- Familiarity with Git workflows, CI/CD, containerization such as Docker, and secure handling of credentials.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C#, or TypeScript and familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and SQL.
- Ability to work independently, learn unfamiliar technologies, gather requirements from non-technical users, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience maintaining an application used by others.
- Familiarity with LLM evaluation methods and guardrails for accuracy, safety, and data privacy.
- Experience integrating applications with CRM, document management, or other business systems.
- Interest in commercial real estate, proptech, or applied AI in a business environment.
Expected Project Outcomes
By the end of the semester, you will work toward:
- Delivering at least one broker-facing application built around real user requirements.
- Deploying at least one RAG or agentic AI capability on Azure for internal use.
- Establishing a repeatable deployment process using source control, automated builds/deployments, environment separation, and monitoring.
- Improving the reliability, performance, or cost of what you build based on actual usage.
- Producing technical and user-facing documentation, including architecture diagrams and handoff materials.
- Presenting completed projects, measured impact, and future opportunities to company leadership.
What You'll Gain
- Real ownership of applications used in a live business environment.
- Full-lifecycle software development experience, from requirements through production support.
- Hands-on experience with application development, Azure cloud architecture, RAG, agentic AI, and DevOps.
- Direct mentorship and exposure to company leadership and real users.
- Portfolio-worthy work with measurable business impact.
- Exposure to commercial real estate operations, technology, and business strategy.
- Practical experience that can help distinguish you in future software engineering, AI, cloud, or consulting roles.
